The Summer House is a recently converted, self-contained guest house finished in a bright Cape Cod style, set at the highest point of the Alderbury Hill estate — a family home in fourteen acres of grounds, paddocks and open countryside — with sweeping views over the estate and landscape beyond.
The Summer House sleeps four: a double bed on the galleried mezzanine level, reached by ladder stairs, and two sofa beds in the main living space. The bathroom is a modern wet room with shower and hand shower, with a separate WC.
The kitchen is generously appointed with two ovens, an induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, two fridges, cafetière and a dining table. The space has fibre Wi-Fi, streamed HDTV and Sonos ceiling speakers for music. It has a private entrance by garden path and on-site parking. Outside, a personal patio with dining table, chairs, a BBQ and firepit looks out over the whole estate to open countryside.
The Larder — before you arrive, stock your kitchen with our curated selection of locally sourced breakfast boxes, BBQ bundles, New Forest cheeses and fresh produce, delivered to your cottage. Please order at least five days before your stay.
Browse The LarderGuest access — guests have exclusive use of the patio, BBQ and firepit, and are welcome to enjoy the estate’s gardens, walking field and paddocks. We ask that you keep to the guest areas and are mindful of the garden directly around the main house and the private spaces of neighbouring cottages.
We are usually on hand to welcome you on arrival and show you around. If we cannot meet you, we will let you know in advance and arrange for your keys to be left safely. Check-in is from 3:00pm to 8:00pm.
